RDG has completed development of Virginia Eye Care’s Mid Atlantic Headquarters and Eye Surgery Center. Virginia Eye Care is a division of Cincinnati Eye Institute based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Together, they are one of the nation’s largest eye care providers with over 100 ophthalmologist and optometrists located in clinical centers in Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
This facility includes state of the art procedure design, equipment and materials throughout. The building consists of two floors that provides 47,000 sf for a surgery center as well as executive and administration support.
The Surgery Center is located on the first floor and consumes nearly 23,000 sf. The “Best in Class” Surgery Center was designed to support an efficient operation of use by the primary physicians and staff to limit the loss of active flow. The surgery center includes five operating rooms, one procedure suite, two laser rooms, 18 pre/post operative bays, two nursing stations and related support rooms. The patient arrival is a comfortable 1,800 sf open floor plan area with comfortable seating and lounging areas for patients.
The second floor includes a Lasik procedure suite and associated eye care lanes/rooms. A viewing room is available for family members to observe the procedure in real time.
The balance of the second floor consists of the CEI/CVP Mid Atlantic’s Eastern Regional HQ offices.
Because of CEI/CVP’s need to deliver the Surgery Center quickly, Robinson Development Group prepared a fast tracked development and construction plan to enable the facility to be open for use within 7 months after the first shovel was put into the ground.
