Hal Yuill Named President, Succeeds Tom Robinson Who Becomes Chairman
Robinson Development Group (RDG) recently announced that Hal Yuill has become RDG’s new president as part of a long-planned management succession arrangement at the fully integrated real estate company. Most recently vice president, Yuill succeeds Tom Robinson, RDG’s visionary founder who will step aside from daily operations into a strategic advisory position as company chairman and head of special projects.
Yuill initially started his career with an affiliate of Robinson Development Group in 2001 and worked with the company for 10 years. He helped manage the Richmond and Hampton Roads operations of Maryland-based real estate investment trust before returning to RDG in early 2016.
“With four decades of experience behind us, our RDG team has thrived in this industry because we are knowledgeable, and perhaps more importantly, adaptable,” said Robinson. “I’m confident Hal will continue leading the company in that vein.”

Yuill’s professional experience includes underwriting and closing over $700 million in commercial assets throughout Virginia and North Carolina, as well as managing the operations of a 6.7 million sq.-ft. office and flex portfolio located in Greater Richmond and Hampton Roads.
Yuill earned his Master of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University
Yuill is a member of the Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real Estate and the CCIM Institute. He is an active community volunteer serves on the Norfolk Academy Alumni Board and the James Madison University Duke Club.
Tom Robinson

Upon retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps as a captain, Tom Robinson began a career in real estate as a real estate project manager for a large national insurance company.
In 1983, he formed Robinson Development Group to specialize in build-to-suit projects and corporate headquarters development. Since that time, the company has developed and or purchased over 4 million square feet of commercial and residential development in the Mid-Atlantic totally over a billion dollars in investment.
Now approaching 40 years in the business, RDG has developed all types of commercial properties, including corporate headquarters, urban and suburban office building, multi-family communities, residential subdivisions, hotel, medical office, retail shopping centers, condos, many projects for federal and state governments and all types of warehouse and distribution facilities. RDG has won numerous industry design awards over that time.
